CBCGDF Experts Published a Scientific Paper in the Famous Journal BMC Biology

Recently, a team of experts from the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation, including researcher Zhu Shao and Dr. Choo Siew Woh, and WAAS Fellow Zhou Jinfeng, published a scientific paper titled "Pangolin scales as adaptations for innate immunity against pathogens" in the journal BMC Biology.

The abstract of the paper states: Pangolins are the only mammals that have overlapping scales covering most of their bodies, and they play a crucial role in the ecosystem, biological research, and human health and disease. Previous studies indicated pangolin scale might provide an important mechanical defense to themselves. The origin and exact functions of this unique trait remain a mystery. Using a multi-omics analysis approach, we report a novel functional explanation for how mammalian scales can provide hostpathogen defense.

"BMC Biology" is a world-class biology journal published by BioMed Central. It mainly publishes research results and practices in biology-related fields. It aims to create an academic journal with high academic level, strong readability and global influence, and has been selected as a SCIE source journal.
