2024 Summer Project Volunteer Internship Report (I) | CBCGDF Sustainable Development Talent Training Program
Youth are the future main force of global environmental governance. Young talents are strategic resources for realizing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, winning the initiative in international competition, and deeply participating in global governance. In order to respond to the call, support the implementation of China's new era talent power strategy, and help Chinese talents participate in global environmental governance and global science and technology governance, the International Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF) has long regarded the training of young talents as one of its core work areas.
Recently, the 2024 summer project of the "Sustainable Development Talent Training Program" jointly initiated by the CBCGDF International Department and the Globalization and Development Major (GAD) of the Joint International College of Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University (UIC) was successfully completed from July to August 2024. This is the fourth consecutive year of youth talent training practice of the joint talent training program. The summary reports and reflections of the students who participated in the internship program will be published in this series:
This summer, I had the honor to participate in the joint internship program organized by UIC and CBCGDF. I was mainly responsible for data search, natural science content learning, academic article translation and feature article writing. This experience has brought me a lot of benefits and has given me a deeper understanding of the dissemination of natural sciences and academic article writing.
During the internship, I gained an in-depth understanding of many fields of natural sciences, including ecology, biology, environmental science, climate change, wetland ecology and biodiversity. By reading professional books, academic papers and online resources, my knowledge reserves have been greatly enriched.
