CBCGDF Volunteers and Fishing Brigade Conduct Joint Action to Implement Regulations on Songhua River Fishing Ban

On June 30, 2024, in order to strictly implement the various regulations on the fishing ban period in the Songhua River and protect the ecological environment of the Songhua River, volunteers from the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) and the Fujin City Fishery Administration Brigade jointly carried out an important patrol operation.

The joint action team captured an illegal fishing boat and cleared the illegal fishing gear found on the spot. They released more than 40 kilograms of fish, including crucian carp, catfish and croaker, on the spot.

The direct brigade also conducted on-site publicity, explained the various regulations of the fishing ban period, and reminded everyone that it is forbidden to engage in various activities such as fishing and trading wild fish during the fishing ban period. It also further summoned and dealt with the captured illegal fishermen, strengthened the punishment for illegal acts, and clarified the enforceability and fairness of the law.

This cooperation action demonstrated the close cooperation between volunteers and fishery administration departments in protecting the ecological environment and fishery resources of the waters. This collaboration not only effectively cleared illegal fishing tools in the Songhua River Basin, but also promoted important knowledge on protecting water resources and aquatic life to the society. Volunteers will continue to actively participate in various actions during the fishing ban period and contribute to the ecological health and sustainable development of the Songhua River Basin.
