CBCGDF Submitted 23 Suggestions on the Mineral Resources Law(Second Review Draft) | CBCGDF Legal Working Committee

Mineral resources are one of the most important material foundations for a country's economic and social development. However, with the increasing demand for energy in economic development, problems such as illegal land use, ecological damage, and environmental pollution have gradually been exposed in the process of exploring and developing mineral resources. The solution to these problems requires further revision and improvement of the Mineral Resources Law.

On June 28, 2024, the Legal Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress announced the Mineral Resources Law (Second Review Draft) and publicly solicited opinions from the society.

The Legal Working Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) attaches great importance to it. After careful study and discussion, 23 suggestions were proposed to the chapters including general provisions, mining rights, mineral resource exploration and mining, mining area ecological restoration, mineral resource reserves and emergency, and legal responsibilities, etc.
