CBCGDF Congratulates 16 New Members Joining IUCN
On July 22, 2024, the International Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) received notice from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) that 16 new members have joined the Union during its 111th Council meeting. The IUCN Council, President, Director General, and the entire Union extend a warm welcome to these new members and look forward to their active engagement.
New members include the Marine Biology in Libya Society, focused on marine ecosystem conservation; Tsavo Trust, dedicated to protecting Kenya's Tsavo Conservation Area; and the Amazon Conservation Association, which works across the Amazon region. The US National Committee of ICOMOS (ICOMOS-USA) and Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, a high-altitude botanical garden, also joined. From South and East Asia, the People's Government of Lishui City and the Hainan National Park Research Institute were admitted. West Asian member, Balamand University’s Institute of the Environment, and European members like the Ocean Cleanup, Nature Research Society, and RespectOcean have also joined. The Swedish Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the Wildlife Conservation Society European Union Office in Belgium round out the new members.
CBCGDF Intl Dept extends its congratulations to these new members and anticipates their valuable contributions to IUCN’s global conservation efforts.
