 In recent years, as people's living standards have improved, water sports represented by motorboats have become more and more popular among citizens. More and more motorboats are shuttling across the Songhua River, some speeding in groups on the main channel, and others performing stunts in the waters of scenic spots. However, the impact of motorboat sports on the ecological environment and the interference with the reproduction and habitat of wild waterfowl need to be paid attention to.

 


Motorboats can cause the following problems: encroaching on waterbird habitats, disturbing waterbird breeding, and posing risks in unfamiliar waters, etc.

 

The government has made great efforts to combat violations along the river, and the results are hard-won. It is recommended to strengthen supervision to prevent a rebound. It is reported that the New District Government is planning to build docks for motorboats and small and medium-sized boats to make up for the lack of legal docks for medium-sized boats and motorboats, and solve the problem of no dedicated docks for official ships of fishery administration, flood control, and water affairs.
