Beware of More Agricultural Land Turning into Garbage Dumps | CBCGDF Legal Working Committee Collects Illegal Clues

Recently, the Legal Working Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) received many reports from its volunteer, including many problems of inadequate solid waste treatment. Among them, the more typical is that some enterprises or villages ignore the risks of soil pollution and ecological damage and dump garbage on agricultural land. These illegally dumped garbage covers a huge area (over 100 acres), has a large weight base (tens or even hundreds of tons), and a variety of garbage (waste oil barrels, coal gangue, pesticide bottles, construction waste, etc.) are mixed and piled up, and even contain hazardous garbage (red mud, medical waste, etc.). These garbage that has not been classified and harmlessly treated and dumped in a chaotic manner has caused soil and water pollution.

In order to safeguard the public interest and protect national land resources, the Green Association's Legal Working Committee is now publicly soliciting illegal clues about solid waste pollution of the environment. If you find the following environmental violations around you, please report to us and we will assist you in promoting the resolution and handling of the problems:

.Building facilities, places and domestic waste landfills for centralized storage, utilization and disposal of industrial solid waste and hazardous waste in ecological protection red line areas, permanent basic farmland concentration areas and other areas that require special protection;

.Unauthorized dumping, stacking, discarding and scattering of industrial solid waste, or failure to take corresponding preventive measures, resulting in the dispersion, loss, leakage or other environmental pollution of industrial solid waste;

.Units that generate industrial solid waste violate the provisions of this law and entrust others to transport, utilize and dispose of industrial solid waste;

.Unauthorized dumping, stacking, Discarding and scattering sludge generated by urban sewage treatment facilities and treated sludge;

.Dumping, scattering, piling or burning domestic garbage at will;

.Construction units dumping, scattering or piling construction waste generated during the construction process without authorization, or failing to utilize or dispose of solid waste generated during the construction process in accordance with regulations;

.Discarding and scattering various types of solid waste, even hazardous waste, along the way during transportation;

.Dumping and piling hazardous waste without authorization;

.Failure to store, utilize or dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with national environmental protection standards or mixing hazardous waste with non-hazardous waste for storage;

.Engaging in the collection, storage, utilization and disposal of hazardous waste without a license;

.Importing solid waste from abroad into my country;

.Other acts that pollute the environment due to solid waste.
