Opening on August 10! CBCGDF Biodiversity Science Museum is Calling for Donated Works

Scientists recently discovered a new plant species in the Daxueshan National Nature Reserve in Yongde, Yunnan - Ixeridium nujiangense. This discovery not only brings exciting new news to the botanical community, but also enriches Yunnan's rich biodiversity information.

On July 26, 2024, the Management Bureau of the Daxueshan National Nature Reserve in Yongde, Yunnan and the research team of Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly published this major discovery, and the results have been officially published in the international plant taxonomy journal PhytoKeys. This research result not only expands our understanding of the plant world in Yunnan, but also provides strong support for ecological protection work in the region.

The research team first conducted a large number of morphological observations on site, recorded the characteristics of the plants in detail, and used modern molecular biology technology - gene bar-coding technology, to conduct DNA testing to determine that it was a completely new plant.
