The Fisheries Law (Draft Amendment) Soliciting Opinions, Welcome Input from All Sectors of Society | CBCGDF Legal Working Committee

During December 21-25, 2024, the 13th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress reviewed the Fisheries Law of the People's Republic of China (Draft Amendment) and made it public to solicit opinions from all parties.

The current Fisheries Law was formulated and implemented in 1986, and some provisions were revised in 2000, 2004, 2009 and 2013. The current Fisheries Law has played an important role in strengthening the protection, proliferation, development and rational utilization of fishery resources, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of fishery producers, and promoting the development of fisheries. This revision is aimed at some incompatible problems that have emerged in the development of fisheries under the new situation in China.

Please indicate "Suggestions on the Draft Amendment to the Fisheries Law" on the envelope. You can also send the suggestions to China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF) at: v40@cbcgdf.org.

The period for soliciting opinions is 30 days, which will end around January 25, 2025.
