China Invested a Record 1.35 trillion yuan in Constructing Water Conservancy Facilities in 2024

China has invested a record 1.35 trillion yuan to build water conservancy facilities through 2024. The Ministry of Water Resources said 47,000 water conservancy projects were implemented this year, strongly supporting national flood control and water supply.

As part of efforts to promote rural revitalisation, more than 20,000 rural water supply projects were completed in 2024, improving water security for more than 100 million rural residents.

How can we better promote synergies between biodiversity conservation and sustainable development when building infrastructure?
