In The Meeting Place, Niamh Cunningham captures the sense of connection and community that comes with nature. The painting focuses on a significant landmark, the Buttress tree, within the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden. For the artist and her group, this tree became a central point for walks and gatherings. Its imposing presence and intricate root system are rendered in vibrant acrylics, symbolizing not just a physical meeting place, but also a deeper connection to the environment and to each other. ‘ The Meeting Place’ is part of the Forest Breath Series.
