Birds Data of the Daling River Estuary in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province Released on Global Biodiversity Information Facility | CBCGDF GBIF Working Group

Recently, the GBIF working group of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) received bird data of Taihe District, Jinzhou, Liaoning reported by Mr. YU Lindan, the director of CBCGDF Conservation Area of Great bustard in Jinzhou, including White-tailed eagle, Oriental white stork, Red-crowned crane, Great bustard, and Hooded Crane. Relevant data have been input and published on the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) for reference and downloading.

On January 2, 2025, Mr. Yu Lian was conducting routine patrol and discovered a large number of large overwintering gulls and herons at a hot spring outlet in the Daling River Estuary Wetland.

The ecological environment of the Daling River Estuary Wetland provides these birds with abundant food resources and suitable habitats. In recent years, with the implementation of ecological restoration projects, the wetland environment of the Daling River Estuary has been significantly improved, attracting more rare birds to spend the winter.

The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) is an international network and data infrastructure funded by governments worldwide, aiming to provide open access to data on all forms of life on Earth. The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation is a data publisher of GBIF. Since joining GBIF in 2018, CBCGDF has been committed to serving scientists, citizen scientists, and conservationists, contributing to biodiversity informatics with the collective efforts from science community and citizen scientists from China.
