Looking Back at the CBCGDF BioGreen's Fourth Year

At the end of the year, editors of the Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development(BioGreen) of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation(CBCGDF) look back at the whole year of 2024.

2024 is the fourth year of the scientific journal Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development (BioGreen).This year has been unusual both at home and abroad. However, between the various policy choices of countries around the world, whether fast or slow, floating or stable, or breaking and establishing, the earth has always followed its existing trajectory, and the four seasons rotate as usual.

But it cannot be ignored that humans are affecting the earth's natural ecosystems and all kinds of life attached to it, including humans themselves, at an unprecedented speed and intensity.

Globally, the United Nations Ocean Decade Conference, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, the United Nations "Plastic Treaty" Intergovernmental Negotiation Committee... they held meetings or COPs in 2024, and all parties debated or cooperated to respond to the crisis of human sustainable development. At home, the "dual carbon" goal promotes energy transformation, the construction of a beautiful China creates green waters and green mountains, and the landscape project strengthens ecological restoration... China is creating a broader space for biodiversity conservation and green development.

Through monthly publications, BioGreen focuses on the policy space, scientific research discoveries, and application innovations behind these developments and changes, and attempts to outline the trajectory and trends of these changes. The cover of each issue also strives to provide readers with a more exciting reading experience through carefully presented pictures.

Only those who work hard and persevere can make further progress. Please join Biogreen and look forward to the coming year.
