CBCGDF Investigates Tongbai County, Birthplace of "Wheat-rice Rotation Multiple Cropping System"

On the afternoon of April 7, the project team for the protection of mountains, rivers and forests at the source of the Huaihe River of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) conducted a detailed investigation on the breeding situation of Chinese Apis cerana in the area near Shuiliandong in Tongbai Mountain, located 5 kilometers west of Tongbai County.

On April 9, 2024, the project team began to investigate the agricultural and forestry development model based on biodiversity conservation and sustainable utilization in Tongbai County.

Tongbai County has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinct seasons and abundant rainfall, which is suitable for the growth of crops. The main crops include wheat, rice, corn, peanuts, rapeseed, sesame, etc. Tongbai County is the birthplace of the "wheat-rice rotation multiple cropping system", and this planting model has also been widely adopted outside Tongbai County.

The project team is now conducting research in Tongbai County. We hereby look forward to all in Tongbai County who care about and support the local conservation of biodiversity and the sustainable livelihood of local residents, to actively speak out for the development of ecological agriculture and forestry in the county, support our survey ( https://www.wjx.cn/vm/eNX6JQ1.aspx), Thank you for your support!
