CBCGDF Recommended International Experts to be Interviewed by CGTN

Recently, China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) recommended international experts to be interviewed by CGTN on China-Eu cooperation on sustainable development and global low-carbon governance. 

The interview program discussed international solutions to global environmental issues through interviews with Patrick Nijs, former Belgian Ambassador to China, Carlos Alvarez Pereira, Secretary-General of the Club of Rome and Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation. They will emphasize international climate and low-carbon cooperation to strengthen and improve global governance, show the results of cooperation between China and European countries in environmental protection and low-carbon development, and analyze the future and prospects of low-carbon cooperation.

Patrick Nijs has served as a senior diplomat in the position of Belgian Head Of Mission in Osaka, Shanghai and Hong Kong. He opted for early retirement when posted as Ambassador to China. As a former Director General of Consular Affairs, He has a special flair for handling international affairs in a practical way.


Carlos Álvarez Pereira is a senior professional combining more than 30 years of experience in research and innovation, entrepreneurship and business management, with a passion for complexity thinking and transdisciplinarity. He is keen on exploring the cultural transformation required to cross the threshold towards equitable human wellbeing within a healthy biosphere.He has been Secretary-General of The Club of Rome, an international think tank, since the beginning of 2024, with the aim of promoting comprehensive solutions to global problems.
