Carlos Alvarez Pereira Invited to Attend Melodious Deer Chirping—CBCGDF Expert Interview(15)

BioGreen - Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development (ISSN2749-9065) of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) will hold the 15th issue of Melodious Deer Chirping—CBCGDF Expert Interview on April 26, 2024.

The theme is “Planetary Reconciliation. Time for an Earth-Humanity Coalition, in support of the UN Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development 2024-2033”.

Prof.
Carlos Alvarez Pereira, Secretary General of The Club of Rome will attend the interview in person.  


Prof. Carlos Alvarez Pereira is an outstanding manager of global organization and interdisciplinary researcher. He was appointed as the new Secretary General of The Club of Rome, a platform of diverse thought leaders who identify holistic approaches to complex global issues, as of 1 January 2024. He is also a senior systems scientist and futurist. He is committed to promoting the responsible development of artificial intelligence technology and ensuring that it benefits all mankind. He has profound insights into the development trends of artificial intelligence, actively advocates the research and practice of artificial intelligence ethics, and has made many constructive suggestions for artificial intelligence policy formulation and supervision. He also actively promotes the integration of artificial intelligence with other fields, such as education, medical care, environmental protection, etc.

From climate emergency and biodiversity loss to global health, complex challenges facing Earth demand innovative and holistic approaches that transcend traditional boundaries. In pursuing a sustainable coexistence between humanity and Earth, science has become more critical than ever before.

After designating 2022 as the
International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development (IYBSSD), the United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed 2024 to 2033 as the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD) - acknowledging the imperative to bridge across scientific disciplines and knowledge forms in order to address the complex and intricate challenges of our time.

The decade aims to raise awareness of the importance of all sciences for sustainable development, and to actively concur, in accordance with national priorities, with the promotion of a coordinated, collaborative, scientific approach providing policymakers with evidence-based analyses and data necessary for establishing and effectively implementing policies in such a way that no one is left behind.

This
