Empowering Change: Integrating Human-Based Solutions for Plastic Crisis | CBCGDF Suggests INC-4 on Plastic Treaty

 Integrating Human-based Solutions (HbS) is essential in addressing the plastic crisis comprehensively. HbS emphasizes the importance of prioritizing human well-being and sustainability in tackling plastic pollution. Unlike traditional approaches that focus solely on technological or regulatory fixes, HbS recognizes that human behavior and societal norms play a crucial role in shaping consumption patterns and waste management practices.

By incorporating HbS into the negotiation framework, we recognize that solutions must be inclusive, equitable, and culturally sensitive. This approach entails fostering awareness, education, and community engagement to promote responsible consumption and waste reduction. HbS also advocates for empowering individuals and communities to participate actively in decision-making processes related to plastic management.


Fundamentally, HbS emphasizes the need for systemic changes that address the root causes of plastic pollution, including unsustainable production and consumption patterns driven by societal values and economic incentives. By fostering a shift towards more sustainable lifestyles and consumption habits, HbS offers a holistic and long-term solution to the plastic crisis, ensuring that environmental protection goes hand in hand with human well-being and social justice.
