CBCGDF Waterbird Community Conservation Area in Tangshan City, Hebei Province Rescued an Injured Oriental White Stork
At the end of April, the temperature in the north rose and the weather became warmer overall. Most of the Oriental white storks that have settled down in the Bohai Rim area are in the stage of hard work raising their young.
Recently, two line patrol employees from Heiyanzi Electric Power Station of Fengnan Electric Power Bureau of Tangshan City, Hebei Province were conducting routine line patrols when they passed by a large rice field that had been flooded in the Heiyanzi area of Fengnan. They accidentally discovered a foraging Oriental white stork stuck in a puddle in a rice field and flapping about in the field.
The two employees were surprised to see the white stork falling into the rice field and struggling, and immediately realized that it needed rescue. They first called the office of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) Waterbird Community Conservation Area (CCAfa) in Tangshan, which is also the location of the Tangshan Conservation and Rescue Station, and then, under the guidance of rescue station staff, entered the rice field area for rescue.
They handed over the rescued Oriental white stork to the Rescue Station. Judging from the preliminary physical examination, the Oriental white stork has no external injuries and should be released into the wild soon.
