ZHOU Jinfeng: The Premise of Good Life is a Good Ecology and Harmonious Coexistence between Man and Nature

On August 15, 2024, the Publicity Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) and Sohu News practiced the ESG special IP "Fingertip Action" to jointly hold an online science popularization event to celebrate the second National Ecological Day.

Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF and Academician of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences (WAAS), attended the event as a guest of the dialogue. In the in-depth exchanges and collisions of ideas, combined with the work practice of biodiversity conservation over the years, he talked about the topics of what is biodiversity, how to understand "green water and green mountains are biodiversity", and how to participate in biodiversity conservation in daily life. It is hoped that through interpretation and popular science, more people will be inspired to pay attention to biodiversity conservation, and encourage everyone to take practical actions in daily life to contribute to the construction of a more harmonious and sustainable ecological environment.

Zhou Jinfeng said: "What are green mountains and clear waters? A further explanation is mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grasses and sands. These are the most common ecosystems we have, and each character in them represents an important large-scale ecosystem. For example, "field" represents the ecosystem after human life intervenes. Ecosystems are the basis of biodiversity conservation. What we need to protect is not just individual species, but the ecosystem on which humans depend for survival."
