Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng Invited John E Scanlan AO to Join the World Academy of Sustainable Development Limited

On August 17, 2024, Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), invited Mr. John E. Scanlon AO to join the World Academy of Sustainable Development Limited (WAOSD). 

The establishment of the World Academy of Sustainable Development Limited is aimed at responding to the important instructions on “supporting Hong Kong SAR to become an international innovation and technology hub”, fully leveraging Hong Kong’s unique advantages, and driving Hong Kong to become a global innovation leader in the field of sustainable development. At the same time, WAOSD will also deeply align with China’s strategies such as the “14th Five-Year Plan”, “the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”, and the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, contributing wisdom and strength to the sustainable development of China and the world.

Mr. John E. Scanlon AO is a renowned expert in international wildlife protection. He served as Secretary-General of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and played a critical role in driving governments, law enforcement agencies, and non-governmental organizations to strengthen cooperation and jointly combat wildlife crime, making outstanding contributions to the global sustainable development.
