Egypt Launches National Low-carbon Hydrogen Strategy| CBCGDF Observation

Egypt unveiled a national low-carbon hydrogen strategy on August 15, 2024, to boost its green economy and meet climate change targets.

It is said the strategy was in line with the “Egypt Vision 2030” and will help diversify energy sources, reduce carbon emissions and attract foreign investment.

It aims to increase the GDP by nearly $18 billion and create 100,000 jobs by 2040, while enhancing energy security.

Egypt seeks to become a global green hydrogen hub, with the Suez Canal Economic Zone already securing a contract worth 397 million euros to export green fuel to Europe.
