International Department of CBCGDF Will Attend the Preparatory Webinar for the Eleventh Meeting of the Conference of the Parties Serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety

 The International Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) will participate in the Preparatory Webinar for the eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, which will be held on September 1, 2024.

 


the eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (COP-MOP 11) will take place from 21 October to 1 November 2024 in Cali, Colombia. Among items on the agenda are compliance, risk assessment and risk management of living modified organisms, the Biosafety Clearing-House, detection and identification of living modified organisms and socio-economic considerations. The meeting will also consider the Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur Supplementary Protocol on Liability and Redress to the Cartagena Protocol.

 

The briefing webinar is being organized to provide an overview of the agenda items of COP-MOP 11 and introduce corresponding documents to participants. The webinar coincides with the anniversary of the entry into force of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, a significant milestone in international environmental governance.

 

The webinar will be held on Microsoft Teams on 11 September 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. EDT (GMT-4) and conducted in English.
