Welcome to Join the CBCGDF Delegation to Attend IPBES11 in Namibia in December

 The eleventh session of the Plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES 11), which is planned to be held from 10 to 16 December 2024 in Mercure Hotel Windhoek, Corner of Auas, 9000 Aviation Road, Windhoek, Namibia.

 


The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) is an observer of IPBES and has been participating in its plenary sessions. CBCGDF will form a delegation to Namibia to attend IPBES 11.

 

 

Experts, scholars, volunteers and others who are interested in participating in IPBES11 are welcome to contact CBCGDF.

 

 

Provisional agenda

 

1.Opening of the session.

 

2.Organizational matters:

 

(a)Adoption of the agenda and organization of work;

 

(b)Status of the membership of the Platform;

 

(c)Election of officers.

 

3.Admission of observers.

 

4.Credentials of representatives.

 

5.Report of the Executive Secretary on progress in the implementation of the rolling work programme up to 2030.

 

6.Financial and budgetary arrangements for the Platform.

 

7.Assessing knowledge:

 

(a)Thematic assessment of the interlinkages among biodiversity, water, food and health;

 

(b)Thematic assessment of the underlying causes of biodiversity loss and the determinants of transformative change and options for achieving the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity;

 

(c)Scoping report for a second global assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services;

 

(d)Engagement with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

 

8.Building capacity, strengthening knowledge foundations and supporting policy.

 

9.Improving the effectiveness of the Platform.

 

10.Organization of the Plenary; dates and venues of future sessions of the Plenary.

 

11.Institutional arrangements: United Nations collaborative partnership arrangement for the work of the Platform and its secretariat.

 

12.Adoption of the decisions and the report of the session.

 

13.Closure of the session.
