The CBCGDF Legal Working Committee Recommends that Medicines Containing Bear Bile and Other Precious and Endangered Wild Animal and Plant Ingredients Be Removed from the Medical Insurance Catalogue

Recently, the National Healthcare Security Administration announced to the public the list of applied drugs and drug information that have passed the preliminary formal review for the adjustment of the 2024 national basic medical insurance, work-related injury insurance, and maternity insurance drug list, and solicited public opinions.

In order to promote the construction of a healthy China, promote the sustainable and high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine in my country, improve the scientific and refined management of basic medical insurance drug use, and promote the modernization of governance systems and governance capabilities, after carefully reading relevant policy documents, the Legal Working Committee of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation put forward the following suggestions and has sent a letter to the National Healthcare Security Administration.

1. Strictly implement policies and investigate drugs that do not comply with medical insurance management regulations.

2. Ensure the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine with high-quality legislation.
