From Ecology, Life to Living | Highlights of the Second Lecture of Biodiversity Luminaries Lecture Series

At 9 am on August 17, Prof. GUO Geng made the second lecture of Biodiversity Luminaries Lecture Series at the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) Biodiversity Science Museum. Prof. Guo Geng is a CBCGDF expert, known as the "encyclopedia" of wild animals.

The title of this lecture is "From Ecology, Life to Living". Guo started with "Ecology". Human civilization started from cutting down the first tree and ended with cutting down the last tree.Guo used vivid examples to explain to us "If we lose the biodiversity of the earth, what will happen to us humans?" "If bees disappear on the earth, how long can we continue?" and other contents, thus proving that "a species will affect the economy of a country, and a gene is related to the prosperity of a region."

In the "Life" section, Guo talked about biodiversity protection, the origin of national parks, and other contents, and called for: "The key to protection is not to lock up animals, but to manage people themselves." In the "Life" section, Guo analyzed the aspects of food, clothing, housing and transportation, and advocated that everyone should start from daily life to practice the concept of the fourth civilization, and emphasized: "The fourth civilization is not about turning ecology into civilization, but about improving (human) behavior."

At the end of the lecture, Guo performed a one-man show "Animal United Nations Conference" written and directed by himself for the audience. He played more than 20 animal roles by himself, and the vivid performance made everyone laugh.
