ZHOU Jinfeng and Senator Saitara Ayaz, Secretary General of the International Parliamentarians Congress Meeting Online to Cooperate in Promoting Climate Action
On the afternoon of June 13, 2024, Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), met with Senator Saitara Ayaz, Secretary General of the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC) online. The two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in addressing climate change and promoting global green development, as well as promoting the active participation of multiple stakeholders in the context of the 2024 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP29).
Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng introduced the efforts made by CBCGDF in addressing climate change, and the idea of " Biodiversity Conservation in Our Neighborhood " (BCON), which is one of the seven solutions in the field of biodiversity selected by the Paris Peace Forum, as well as the participating in the meeting on climate change and action held by the Embassy of Pakistan in China at the invitation of His Excellency Moin Ul Haque, Ambassador of Pakistan to China. As a member of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences (WAAS), Dr. ZHOU also introduced the relevant activities of WAAS and potential future cooperation with the International Parliamentary Conference (IPC).

reviewed the exchanges between the two sides at the " the 6th World Forum
on Intercultural Dialogue ", and expressed the desire of jointly
conducting research and policy advocacy related to climate change; promoting
the exchange and promotion of green technologies and practices; strengthening
exchanges and cooperation among parliamentarians, and jointly promoting green
development legislation at the international level.

Zhou Jinfeng emphasized the need to mobilize resources, promote knowledge
sharing, and cultivate partnerships to support climate goals, as well as
promote dialogue and cooperation between relevant departments to promote
international cooperation in addressing climate change.
