CBCGDF International Department Nominates Experts to Support the Cutting-edge Work of IPCC and Participate in Global Climate Governance
China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) nominated Dr. WEI Wei to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to participate in the work related to the Seventh Assessment Report.
Dr. WEI is a Full Professor in the State Key Laboratory of Urban and Regional Ecology, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He mainly focus on dryland ecohydrology and ecosystem restoration, soil and water conservation, terraced landscape pattern and multiple ecosystem services monitoring and evaluation. He has selected the Loess Plateau of China as the key study area and has worked in this region for more than 20 years. Currently, he is mostly interested in the coupling role of climatic factors (temperature, precipitation and solar radiation, etc.) and human-created landscapes (terraces, artificial forestlands, urbanization and land abandonment, etc.) on topography, land cover, ecohydrological and erosion processes, multiple ecosystem services (water retention and yield, soil conservation, carbon sequestration, etc.) and human welfare, as well as the sustainability.
