CBCGDF Prepares to Apply to Participate in COP16 Green Zone Activities

 China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development FoundationCBCGDFwill prepare to apply for COP16 Blue Zone Activities.The Blue Zone is the venue where the Conference of the Parties takes place, it is managed by the CBD General Secretariat and administered by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). Blue Zone events will be held in the Valle del PacíficoEvents Center, located 25 minutes north of the City of Santiago de Cali, and 15 minutes south of the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport, in Palmira.

 


This Zone is open to people who have official accreditation from the United Nations, be they representatives of the member countries of the Convention, or of the varying multilateral organisms, civil society or the private sector observers of the Convention.

 

The Conference of the Parties on Biological Diversity is held every two years to discuss and make collective decisions at the international level. During these meetings, countries review progress in implementing the convention, exchange information and experiences, negotiate agreements, and establish guidelines and action plans to address challenges and threats to biodiversity globally.
