UNEP Thanks CBCGDF for Its Contribution to 2024 World Environment Day Celebrations

Recently, the International Department of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) received a certificate of appreciation from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), commending the CBCGDF for actively carrying out various celebrations on the 2024 World Environment Day (June 5), responding to and joining the "#GenerationRestoration" celebration initiated by the UNEP, and contributing to the great success of its celebrations. Together, we can restore  land, build drought resistance and combat desertification.

At the invitation of the University of Vienna, on the evening of June 4, 2024, on the eve of World Environment Day, Dr. ZHOU Jinfeng, CBCGDF Secretary-General  gave an online lecture entitled "Biodiversity in China and Beyond" to students at the University of Vienna, Austria. On June 5, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng and his delegation visited the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to share good stories and valuable experiences in biodiversity conservation and green development with students.

To celebrate World Environment Day in 2024, the CBCGDF "Peoples vs. Plastics" project Team called for the participation of all people and social co-governance, hoping to rely on the power of the whole society to combat plastic pollution. CBCGDF volunteers from all over the country went to the fields, patrolled the river beaches, went into campus and communities, picked up garbage, and carried out publicity activities such as marine environmental protection, garbage classification guidance, plastic reduction and collection. CBCGDF volunteers advocated "plastic-free" life and spread the concept of "plastic reduction", calling on everyone to start from themselves, from the small things around them, and actively participate in the "Peoples vs. Plastics" action.
