CBCGDF Will Participate in the 52nd Plenary Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS 52)
The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) is honored to participate in the 52nd Plenary Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS 52). This prestigious event will be held from October 21 to 25, 2024, in Rome, Italy.
The 52nd session will address crucial global food security and nutrition issues, with a spotlight on the 2024 State of Food Security and Nutrition report. During the intersessional period, the Committee has developed several CFS products, and their endorsement will be a significant agenda item. Additionally, the session will update the CFS Multi-Year Programme of Work for 2024-2027, providing a roadmap for future efforts and initiatives.
One of the highlights of this year’s session will be the presentation by the High-Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE-FSN). Their report, "Strengthening Urban and Peri-Urban Food Systems to Achieve Food Security and Nutrition in the Context of Urbanization and Rural Transformation," will offer valuable insights into addressing food security challenges in rapidly urbanizing environments.
Other ongoing CFS workstreams and priorities will also be discussed, emphasizing the collective commitment to enhancing global food security.
As we gather with global leaders, experts, and stakeholders, we look forward to engaging in meaningful dialogues, sharing our experiences, and learning from the diverse perspectives presented. Together, we aim to forge stronger alliances and develop innovative solutions to ensure a more secure and nutritious future for all.
