CBCGDF Visits Bairin Right Banner of Inner Mongolia Exploring Ecological Protection
Bairin Right Banner is located in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, northern part of Chifeng City. On June 20, 2023, Mr. Xiao Qing, Deputy Secretary-General of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), Mr. Wang Enzhong, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Green Enterprises Working Committee of CBCGDF, Mr. Guo Zeshen, Member of the Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Special Committee of the China Environmental Science Society and Director of Beijing Zhongchuang Carbon Investment Technology Co., Ltd., and Mr. Xu Hongzhen, Project Manager of Beijing Zhongchuang Carbon Investment Technology Co., Ltd., visited Bairin Right Banner for discussions and exchanges. The meeting was attended by Mr. Hashtaogetao, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Bairin Right Banner, Mr. Jun Yongwei, Deputy Banner Chief of the local government, and Mr. Dabushilatu, Director of the Management Bureau of Saihan Wula Nature Reserve in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. Officials from the Government Office, Forestry and Grassland Bureau, and Culture and Tourism Bureau of Bairin Right Banner also participated in the discussion.
After watching the investment promotion video titled "Vibrant
Grassland, Happy Bairin," Mr. Hashtaogetao provided a detailed
introduction to the rich historical and cultural heritage of Bairin Right
Banner, its geographical advantages, and emphasized the specific policy
measures for industrial positioning, development trends, as well as robust
commerce and trade. He warmly welcomed the leaders of CBCGDF and
representatives from Chinese green enterprises who came for the exchange.
During the meeting, Deputy Secretary-General Xiao Qing introduced the
historical background and development process of CBCGDF, as well as its recent
exploration in biodiversity conservation and green development guided by
President Xi Jinping's ecological civilization concept. He expressed that the
purpose of their visit was to discuss the latest concepts and practical
experiences in local development, and explore how to promote green
transformation and facilitate the coordinated development of environment,
economy, and society in Bairin Right Banner, under the overarching principle of
"Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets."
Mr. Wang Enzhong, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Green
Enterprises Working Committee of CBCGDF, presented a Green-Paper titled
"Analysis of China's Green Economic Development in 2023," published
by the committee, as a gift to Bairin Right Banner. This book serves as a
reference tool for green development. He also delivered a speech on assisting
local governments in building green industrial ecosystems, focusing on the work
of "dual carbon," the implementation and CCER projects. He stated
that the Green Enterprises Working Committee will provide support for the
green, low-carbon, and high-quality development of Bairin Right Banner. Mr. Guo
Zeshen, Director of Beijing Zhongchuang Carbon Investment Technology Co., Ltd.,
introduced relevant policies, development status, development processes, and
considerations for international and domestic forest and grassland carbon
sinks. He expressed that Bairin Right Banner is rich in forest and grassland
resources, and has great potential for the development of carbon sinks. In the
future, through the development and trading of forest and grassland carbon
sinks, new pathways for converting ecological product value will be explored,
thereby assisting the region in achieving dual carbon goals.
The importance of protecting the dark sky and the sustainable livelihood
that can be brought to local communities through stargazing tourism were also
discussed. Both parties had in-depth exchanges on the work related to the
application for "Dark Sky Protection Area" in Saihan Wula Nature
Reserve in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. Feasibility and prospects for the
sustainable development of the protection area were thoroughly explored during
the meeting.
