2023 Summer Internship Project of CBCGDF and UIC Globalisation and Development Programme Officially Launched
On June 28th, 2023, the summer internship project of the International Department of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) and Globalisation and Development (GAD) Programme, United International College of Beijing Normal University & Hong Kong Baptist University (UIC) was officially launched.
The summer internship project is based on GAD-CBCGDF Sustainability Leadership Platform, which was jointly launched by the GAD Programme of UIC and CBCGDF with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in May, 2021. With the purpose of “cultivating outstanding young talents”, CBCGDF provides a variety of opportunities for participating international activities, and promotes young people’s active participation in international decision-making, enriching their experiences in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
Before the official launch of the summer internship project in 2023, the heads of both parties had held several preparatory meetings. At the preparatory meeting on June 27th, the staff of the CBCGDF introduced the work items and workflow of interns and put forward specific requirements. In addition, the questions raised by students were also answered. At the meeting, Mr. Zhang Qifan, a senior in GAD programme, also shared his experience of internship at CBCGDF.
The project has trained a number of outstanding young people in the past three years, providing them with valuable opportunities and platforms to participate in global environmental governance. The cooperation between CBCGDF and UIC will strive to become an example and template for social organizations and universities to jointly cultivate talents in international governance, and contribute to China’s role in international affairs.
