All 10 Suggestions of CBCGDF on "Quality Management Standards in E-commerce Live Sales" Be Adopted by National Standardization Technical Committee TC563

On June 21, 2023, the National Standardization Technical Committee of Quality Management in E-commerce (TC563) held a meeting to solicit opinions on the "Quality Management Standards for E-commerce Live Sales". Mr. Ma Yong, Deputy Secretary General of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), representing TC563 member and Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary General of CBCGDF attended the meeting and proposed 10 suggestions on the scope of application, behavioral norms, organizational management, language norms, and product information, etc.

Recently, the Standards Committee of CBCGDF received feedback from the TC563 Secretariat informing that all 10 suggestions had been adopted.

According to the “2022 Live E-commerce White Paper”, the number of e-commerce live streaming users in China in 2022 was 469 million, accounting for 44.6% of the total number of netizens. With the rapid development of live streaming e-commerce, many problems have also been exposed, such as unclear and insufficient disclosure of operator information on some live streaming e-commerce platforms; evasion of platform supervision which increases the difficulty of rights protection, etc. Therefore, in order to fill the technical loopholes in laws and regulations on the quality supervision and management of this new business entity and mode of live sales, TC563 has formulated the "Quality Management Standards for E-Commerce Live Sales", which is to strengthen the guidance and supervision, to protect consumers' rights to information, information security, and property rights, and to promote the healthy and orderly development of the e-commerce live streaming industry.
