CBCGDF Joined the Festivities Celebrating Madagascar's 63rd Independence Day in Beijing
On June 26, 2023, the Embassy of Madagascar in China hosted a grand reception to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the country's independence. The China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) gratefully accepted the ambassador's invitation and was honored to attend this momentous occasion, presenting a floral basket as a symbol of friendship and goodwill.
The opening ceremony commenced with the
national anthems of both Madagascar and the People's Republic of China, filling
the air with a sense of unity and celebration. Following this, His Excellency
Robinson Jean-Louis, the Ambassador of Madagascar to China, took the stage and
delivered a remarkable speech that lasted for 25 minutes. In his address, he
reflected upon the history and significance of Madagascar's Independence Day,
as well as the country's progress over the past six decades. The ambassador
emphasized the friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Madagascar,
expressing his aspirations for broader collaboration in the future.
During the reception, CBCGDF
representatives had the opportunity to explore an impressive collection
showcasing Madagascar's rich biodiversity. Mr. Adrien ANDRIANASOLO, the
Counsellor, warmly introduced the diverse flora and fauna of Madagascar, along
with its vibrant cultural heritage. The presentation left a lasting impression
as we marveled at tea, coffee, baobab trees, bamboo, and a myriad of unique
local crops and produce.
Over the past three years, CBCGDF has been
privileged to collaborate with the people of Madagascar in tackling climate
change. In 2021, the Foundation launched the international aid project
"Madagascar Crisis" (#MadagascarCrisis) with the aim of assisting
local communities struggling with the consequences of climate change and
alleviating hunger. Looking ahead, CBCGDF is eager to enhance communication and
cooperation with people and civil society of Madagascar, working hand in hand
to build a shared future for our planet and its diverse life forms.
The celebration of Madagascar's 63rd
Independence Day at the Embassy of Madagascar in China was an occasion filled
with warmth, friendship, and hope. It served as a reminder of the enduring bond
between the peoples of China and Madagascar, as well as the shared commitment
to environmental preservation and sustainable development. Together, we look
forward to a future marked by deeper collaboration and a harmonious coexistence
within the global community.
