CBCGDF Submitted 19 Suggestions to the "Measures for Administration of the Pesticide Registration (Revised Draft for Comments)"

The production and use of pesticides directly affect the quality and safety of agricultural products, human and animal safety, and have a significant impact on agriculture, forestry production and the ecological environment. Strengthening the administration of pesticide registration and improving risk monitoring and re-evaluation mechanisms after pesticide registration, etc. are all important aspects related to social security and stability.

The pesticide registration policy is based on national control, ensuring the quality, safety, and effectiveness of pesticides, and further protecting agriculture, forestry production and the ecological environment. Since the implementation of the "Measures for Administration of the Pesticide Registration” in China for 5 years, there have been new changes in the form of pesticide registration management. In order to further improve the rules and regulations, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has issued the "Measures for Administration of the Pesticide Registration (Revised Draft for Comments) based on extensive research and is soliciting opinions from society.

The Legal Working Committee of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) attaches great importance to this and has put forward 19 suggestions to the Pesticide Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs after comprehensively taking into account the economic, environmental, and safety impacts of pesticides. The suggestions mainly included aspects on general principles, basic requirements, application and acceptance, review and decision, risk monitoring and evaluation.
