Congratulations! Dr. Zhou Jinfeng Elected Foreign Member of Serbian National Academy of Sciences

 

At the Presidium meeting of the Serbian National Academy of Sciences held on March 10, 2025, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, President of the World Academy of Sustainable Development (WAOSD), Member of The World Academy of Art & Science (WAAS), and Founding Chair of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), was officially elected as a foreign member of the Academy.

The Serbian National Academy of Sciences traces its origins to the National Academy of Sciences Working Group established in 1935 within the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Belgrade. After being reestablished post-World War II, it underwent institutional transformations including the School of Electrical Engineering and Department of Energy Informatics, Department of Physical Technology, and Serbian Research Institute of Applied Sciences. To promote national economic and scientific development, it was formally established as the Serbian National Academy of Sciences with approval from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science.


The Serbian National Academy of Sciences brings together experts and scholars dedicated to achieving common goals and interests in the fields of technology, natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. One of its priorities is to unite interested professionals and legal entities to promote invention, scientific advancement, and innovative creation.


Dr. Zhou Jinfeng’s election holds significant importance for enhancing China-Serbia cooperation in biodiversity conservation, green development, and related fields.

The world’s ocean ecosystems are facing mounting threats—climate change, marine pollution, overfishing, and habitat destruction due to human activities, to name a few.
