Emmanuel Macron Delivers a Speech at the SOS Ocean Summit: Eight Goals for the 2025 UN Ocean Conference | CBCGDF OceanWetlands

On March 31, 2025, French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the SOS Ocean Summit, outlining eight major goals for the upcoming 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) in Nice. These goals are designed to advance global marine conservation efforts. In his closing address, Macron emphasized the severe challenges facing the oceans and called on the international community to work together to take concrete measures to protect marine ecosystems. Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Founding Chair of the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), President of World Academy of Sustainable Development Limited (WAOSD) was invited to attend the summit in Paris.




The editors of "OceanWetlands" noted the official Elysée Palace press release, which highlighted the core points of the "eight goals", including Promoting the entry into force of the BBNJ Agreement, achieving sustainable fisheries, Expanding the coverage of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), Decarbonizing the shipping industry, tackling plastic pollution, Mobilizing new financing, Addressing the impacts of climate change on the oceans, and Strengthening marine scientific research.
