At its sixteenth meeting, the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity adopted its decision 16/31 on the monitoring framework for the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. In paragraph 30(d) of that decision, the Executive Secretary was requested to compile submissions from Parties and indigenous peoples and local communities on inputs and relevant information to support the development of a methodology for headline indicator 22.1 (land-use change and land tenure in the traditional territories of indigenous peoples and local communities).

In response to that request, Parties and indigenous peoples and local community organizations are invited to provide inputs and relevant information to support the development of a methodology for headline indicator 22.1 by 30 May 2025. Inputs and relevant information should be submitted through the central portal of the clearing-house mechanism using the following link: https://chm.cbd.int/submit/submission/new?notification=2025-046. Should technical problems prevent the use of the clearing-house mechanism, contributions may be sent through an official letter addressed to the Executive Secretary, by e-mail to secretariat@cbd.int.
