CBCGDF Research Team Conducts Atmospheric Monitoring

In order to gain a deeper understanding of the ecological status of the mining area, the transformation challenges it faces, and provide strong data support for future ecological restoration and repair, the China Green Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) set up a biodiversity research team to conduct the first biodiversity survey in the Shouyun and Weike mining areas. Atmospheric particulate matter monitoring is one of its tasks.

On October 29, 2024, researchers from the atmosphere group went to the two major mining areas to carry out data monitoring on PM10 and TSP. The monitoring points were distributed in the southeast, northwest, northeast and southwest of the mining area. Data was recorded once every 5 minutes at each point and the average value was taken. Finally, the data was gathered and the concentration value at that time was taken as the monitoring result.

According to the observation of on-site inspection personnel, there are still trucks carrying sand and gravel in the Weike mining area, and there are no operating vehicles in the Shouyun mining area.

Ecological restoration and biodiversity protection in mining areas is a long-term and arduous task. The CBCGDF research team will continue to uphold the concept of green development, actively fulfill social responsibilities, and contribute to the promotion of ecological civilization construction. At the same time, we also call on all sectors of society to pay attention to the ecological problems in mining areas and work together to build a beautiful China.
