Youth Voices from CBCGDF, China at UNFCCC COP29

The 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, concluded with active participation from Chinese youth representatives including Li Yu, a representative of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF). The summit brought together over a hundred countries' representatives, experts, industry leaders, and youth to discuss sustainable development in the context of global climate action. The Chinese youth shared their country's experiences and contributions, emphasizing China's role in climate governance and sustainable development.



Contributions and Insights

Li Yu called for high-quality and equitable education opportunities for all, stating that youth are the future of every nation and that education is crucial for their contributions to society. She urged everyone to join in actions to reduce carbon emissions and build a sustainable green home. Others highlighted the importance of education as a bridge between scientific research and policy implementation, and emphasized the role of mangroves in ecological restoration and climate adaptation, calling for global action to protect these ecological assets.


Global Climate Action with Chinese Strength

Chinese youth representatives shared insights from policy, education, innovation, and action, showcasing China's unique contributions to climate governance and sustainable development. They called for global youth and young entrepreneurs to join the sustainable action against climate change, hoping to make the world a better place through practical actions.
