CBCGDF Delegation Arrived in Riyadh to Participate the 16th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification
On the morning of November 30, 2024, the UNCCD COP16 delegation of six people from the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) arrived at Riyadh Airport in the capital of Saudi Arabia, and will attend the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from December 2 to 13, 2024.
The UNCCD COP16 held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from December 2 to 13, 2024, is under the theme "Our Land. Our Future". 197 contracting parties around the world will gather together to discuss policies and combat desertification and drought. The UNCCD COP16 is a unique multilateral platform where governments, businesses and civil society come together to address today's challenges for a sustainable future, including the need to reverse land degradation and build resilience to drought. The UNCCD COP16 is expected to be the largest meeting of the 197 Parties to the Convention in history and the first COP to the UNCCD to be held in the Middle East on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the UNCCD COP.
As an observer to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, the CBCGDF UNCCD COP16 delegation will participate on site in the UNCCD COP16 in Riyadh.
