The 200th CCAfa Established! CBCGDF Macaca mulatta Protected Area at Bao'an Village

Recently, CBCGDF received an application from WEI Jizhou who lived at Baoan Village, Du'an Yao Autonomous County, Hechi City, Guangxi Province, for a macaque protected area. This protected area aims to further effectively carry out the protection of macaques and protect local biodiversity.

Baoan Village is located in the mid-western part of Guangxi, south of Hechi City, about 150 kilometers away from Nanning City and Hechi City. Bao'an Township covers an area of 235.6 square kilometers. Most of the territory is Dashishan Mountain.

In order to better protect the survival of macaques, we set up the CBCGDF Macaque Protected Area at Bao'an Village. It is hoped that through the establishment of the protected area, a scientific and standardized management service model will be formed, so that the protected area will become a demonstration base and an education base for biodiversity protection in the rural revitalization project, and at the same time promote leisure tourism in the local countryside and raise people's awareness of wildlife protection.
